Opportunities for Ministry

Office Help:

Parish Archivist:  Christ Church has a rich history dating back to the mid-1800s.  We are looking for people who enjoy research and history to sort through old documents, photos, etc. and set up a system to preserve what is valuable, to toss what is not, and to organize storage of items in a logical manner.  Assistance is available through the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut.

Parish Office Substitutes:  Substitutes cover the telephone and simple clerical duties when the Parish Administrator is on vacation or at conferences.  Some basic computer skills are needed.

Parish Office Volunteers:  Special Projects:  These might include assembling mailings.

Friday Folders:  On Friday at 10:00 a.m. each week, volunteers prepare the bulletins for Sunday by folding and/or stuffing.  These wonderful folks also help with newsletter folding and labeling as needed.

Administration of Resources:

Buildings and Grounds Maintenance:  Volunteers are always needed to help maintain the physical plant of Christ Church.  This includes everything from pulling weeds, cleaning gutters, and trimming hedges, to assisting the Sexton in the maintenance of the church interior and exterior.

Martha Ministry:  A rotating list of volunteers help keep the kitchen neat and clean.
