Christian Education Ministry Opportunities

Children's Chapel: The Children's Chapel is a separate time of worship for children ages four through grade five and takes place during a portion of the 10:00 a.m. service. A typical chapel service will include a variety of music, reading and discussion of the day's gospel lesson, a prayer time, and closing. Volunteers are welcome each week to help.
Journey to Adulthood: This is our program for pre-teens and teenagers. When fully running, there are classes for three age groups: sixth and seventh graders (Rite-13), eighth and ninth graders (J2A) and tenth through twelfth graders (YAC). Teams of four adults per class lead these groups.
Nursery Volunteers: Parents/parishioners help watch children under age three in the nursery during the 10:00 a.m. service. They are teamed with a paid staff person each week. (Volunteers and children go to church at the exchange of the Peace, midway through the service and prior to Communion.)
Sunday School Teachers: Teachers work together in teams of three or four to teach children in grades Pre-K to five. There is an easy-to-follow curriculum that leads teachers through the lesson and gives multiple options for in-class activities each week. The schedule is flexible and worked out among those on each teaching team.

Summer Bible School: Rather than running a one or two week vacation Bible school, our summer program happens during the first part of our Sunday service. Each summer brings a new and exciting theme.
